Most people are familiar with medication being the common treatment for a series of medical ailments. However, new research has revealed innovative ways to utilize the body’s natural healing process. Here are four of the most innovative therapies readily offered to patients today.

PRP Injections

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is a substance that is obtained via a patient’s own blood that gets reinjected into the body to enhance healing. This type of therapy is utilized to increase the rate of healing for the ligaments, muscles, tendons, and joints. This form of treatment is very successful because the healing substance is directly drawn from the patient’s body so there is no possibility of the body rejecting the substance. While blood is what is drawn from the patient, it’s put into a centrifuge that pulls out the PRP for reinjection into the patient’s injury site.

Stem Cell Therapy

One of the biggest talked-about therapies for the body is stem cell services. Stem cells are human cells that have the potential to transform into any specific type of cell the body needs. These cells are injected into the body to go to areas that need extra cells for repairing the various systems of the body. A few examples of what stem cells can transform to include bone cells, fat cells, muscle cells, blood cells, and nerve cells.

Acupuncture

Known as a traditional Chinese treatment method, acupuncture has been a practice for centuries. This type of treatment involves using sterile needles specifically placed throughout the body to stimulate specific points in the body. It’s thought to help the natural healing process of the body. This therapy is used for all sorts of medical ailments including anxiety, depression, and insomnia, as well as neck and back pain.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is another common alternative medicine practice that relies on stimulating the body’s natural healing process. There are various types of massages including Swedish, hot stone, deep tissue, aromatherapy, trigger point, and sports. The idea behind how this alternative treatment works is that it loosens muscle and facial restrictions in the body. This allows for increased blood flow to the area that was restricted so the body can naturally heal itself.

All of these methods are great alternatives to traditional medicine. Each one works to stimulate the body’s own natural healing process. When it comes to treating your condition naturally, you can’t get much more natural than these methods explained above.

  • I’d like to add one simple holistic therapy that helped me a bunch. Water helps you manage diarrhea. I suffer from chronic diarrhea and was at my wits end. If you don’t have IBS or chronic diarrhea, it sounds like a joke, but it is not I can assure you. Daily diarrhea is not laughing matter. I started drinking water every morning instead of taking expensive diarrhea medicine and I’m how should I put this, over it, before I get to the office. The last straw for me was a board meeting where I soiled my pants and had to find an excuse to leave early. Luckily for me, one of my investors privately pulled me aside and told me she also suffered from IBS and diarrhea and water helped. It worked like a charm. No more embarrassment, I get the diarrhea over with in the morning thanks to water. Also, thanks for mentioning PRP, that therapy has been hugely helpful for both regaining some lost hair due to balding as well as helping my impotence. Great blog, you’ve got a new superfan with me.
