Due to the abundance of beauty products at your disposal, it’s not always easy to find the right one. But one popular beauty product that most people look for is anti-aging cream. True to its name, it’s supposed to make you look years younger.

However, some people don’t really take into account what ingredients some anti-aging creams contain. Here are a few ingredients to look out for in an effective anti-aging cream.

Biotin

One ingredient that should always be included in an anti-aging cream is biotin. Biotin is a vitamin that’s also referred to as vitamin H. Biotin comes with many benefits including strengthening skin cells, keeping hair healthy, ensuring smooth skin, strengthening nails, and even boosting the nervous system.

Without biotin, your skin may lose its elasticity. In some cases, a lack of biotin can cause your hair to fall out as well. While biotin is an essential vitamin, too much of it may cause issues as well. It may cause indigestion, skin issues such as a rash and in rare cases, kidney issues. Note, that usually isn’t the case when used in a topical form.

Green Tea

If this is your first time trying out anti-aging cream, you might be curious as to why green tea is an important ingredient. Green tea works as an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant. An antioxidant is a type of chemical that basically aids free radicals, which are unstable molecules within the body. Antioxidants oxidize these free radicals to repair the damage and prevent it. An anti-inflammatory is a substance that helps reduce swelling and inflammation.

Due to green tea being a two-in-one package, it can help protect your skin from sun damage and skin cancer. It also keeps your collagen from breaking down, which leads to fine lines and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic Acid

Another common ingredient in anti-aging cream is hyaluronic acid. This ingredient can be found in a lot of beauty products. Not only does it smooth out the signs of aging, but it also contains moisturizing properties. Hyaluronic acid is actually a polymer that can hold as much as 1000 times its weight in water. In products like anti-aging CBD eye cream and other anti-aging creams, it brings the moisture already in your skin closer to the surface to give a healthier, more youthful look.

Vitamin K

Finally, the last ingredient to look for in anti-aging cream is vitamin K. Vitamin K boosts blood circulation and helps your skin glow. As a result, vitamin K can be found in eye cream, night-time serums and even creams that eliminate stretch marks.

Now that you know what to look for, choosing an anti-aging cream should be easy. However, there are more ingredients to look out for, so be sure to contact a dermatologist if you are unsure of which is best for your skin type.
