People are looking for the magic pill that will fight off fatigue, sickness, pain, and make them feel amazing. While there is nothing magical, the truth is that you don’t have to go much further than your kitchen cabinet to find the relief you need. Many of the things in your pantry have healing properties that you know nothing about. Nature provides you with powerful things that can fight almost any condition you may have. Here are three that you should incorporate into your diet:

1. Garlic

Garlic is used in spaghetti, pizza, soups, sauces, and in many things you consume. However, many don’t honestly know how powerful this little bulb is to the body. Did you know that garlic is a natural antibiotic? It can fight off infection as well as it would if you took a round of penicillin. You can take two or three bulbs each day to improve your blood pressure, lower blood sugar, and improve overall body function.

As a member of the lily family, where does this little plant get all its power from? Garlic has a chemical call allicin in it, and this chemical holds all the power.

When eating raw, it should be crushed and allow to sit for about 15 minutes before consuming. Yes, it’s powerful and has a putrid smell, but it’s saving grace is the benefits these little bulbs contain. Be advised; cooked garlic doesn’t have the same powers as it does raw as the allicin is cooked out of it. Always use it raw when you want the medicinal benefits.

2. Marshmallow Root

Who doesn’t love marshmallows? Marshmallow root has been used to cure things like respiratory infections, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma. The same root that makes those squishy treats can be used to create a robust tea that can wipe out inflammation. Although, you don’t need to make a drink as you can take the powdery form too. Some experts have called it the ultimate gut and lung protector.

Many studies have been done on the effectiveness of this plant, and the Indians revered its efficiency. During a cold or bout of bronchitis, taking just 1,200 milligrams of this powdery root can stop a nagging cough. As a benefit, there are no lingering side effects like you find with other cold remedies.

3. Lemon Juice

The juice of a lemon can do more than make a delicious pitcher of lemonade. Lemons are known for their blast of citrus and incredible levels of vitamin C. Did you know that adding fresh lemon to your water each day can help you to clear mouth infections, freshen your breath, improve digestion, help with high blood pressure, clear throat infections, reduce a fever, and even burn fat to help with obesity? Juicing has become very popular these days because of its amazing benefits. Add some bitter gourd juice with lemons and oranges for a powerful immunity boost you can use.

The beautiful thing about garlic, marshmallow root, and lemons is that they are cost effective. Many studies have been done about the efficiency of all three of these plants, and the results are overwhelming. Eastern medicine uses the power of nature to heal and promote longevity. The western world is starting to embrace the fact that there is help beyond the prescription bottle. Though medications have their place, Mother Nature provides much of the things necessary to heal, cure, and prevent disease and illness.
