You went out drinking last night and had a blast. It has been quite a while since you packed away that much alcohol. In fact, you haven’t had as much fun as that since in your college days. Unfortunately, the morning has come and you have a hangover that just will not quit. Not to worry. Here are four natural aids for a hangover that will put the lively spring back in your step in no time.

Drink Water

It turns out that a primary problem with drinking too much alcohol in one sitting is that it can cause you to become quite dehydrated. This is because alcohol is a diuretic and can cause frequent urination; thus, leading to the loss of bodily fluids and electrolytes.

When you feel like you are hung over with a splitting headache, your body is starving for water. Taking slow sips of water to hydrate your body can take the edge off of a nasty hangover. If drinking pure water does not settle well, then try drinking bone broth instead. The additional electrolytes in the bone broth should make it easier to keep down and help to improve how you feel while also aiding in hydrating your body.

Oxygen

Another key factor in dealing with a hangover comes from realizing that your body must expend three molecules of oxygen to metabolize one molecule of alcohol. As you can guess, this rapidly depletes your oxygen levels. With such a low oxygen state it becomes difficult to muster the energy necessary to push through your morning. However, you can use a pure canned oxygen supplement to replenish the oxygen your body needs to shake off your hangover.

Taking Vitamin C

Any time you are thinking about drinking excessively, it is critical to note that alcohol depletes your body’s stores of vitamin C. Unfortunately, this leaves behind a problem where your liver is stuck trying to get rid of the build up of toxins. By taking large doses of vitamin C, you can help your liver get rid of toxins quicker, which then helps to usher your hangover along much faster than normal.

Taking Ginger

If you are feeling particularly nauseous after a night of drinking, then consuming ginger can help considerably. Ginger, in pill or tea form, is a powerful digestive aid which helps to ease nausea, vomiting, upset stomach and fatigue. Its anti-inflammatory properties makes ginger a safe choice for reducing the pain associated with a nasty headache as well.

If you have not had a hangover in a long time, being refamiliarized with the ill feelings associated with such an event can be most unpleasant. But, by reacting quickly to your symptoms with the above natural approaches can rapidly alleviate many of these ill effects of alcohol over consumption.
