ADHD Homeopathic Remedies Do Work, Says Research
The idea of ADHD homeopathic remedies used to assist diagnosed children have lately become more of a hot topic. Doctors, clinicians, and researchers alike are trying to look for more permanent and core-centered solutions to treat this mental disorder.
Many conventional and even alternative methods, though helpful, do not necessarily offer a more final and everlasting solution.
Homeopathy, along with acupuncture, can offer a steady, yet more complete and resonant healing by focusing on the core mental and emotional symptoms, while simultaneously offering physical relief.
So popular is this topic, that when I recently wrote about great ADHD homeopathic remedies for children, my fans on Twitter were immediately liking and retweeting my article.
Now To The Research…
Fortunately, there is also a growing amount of clinical research positively demonstrating that homeopathy can successfully treat ADHD and other common child ailments.
I have presented some studies previously (for example here), but there is much more out there.
As an important side note, homeopathy can not only help children on all levels, but it is also very inexpensive and does not contain side effects.
The homeopathic research here is from a renowned pediatrician, Dr. Heiner Frei, M.D.
Dr. Frei has won several European medical awards for his research in ADHD as well as in ear infections. As an experienced pediatrician, he also became a homeopath and is equally prominent in the homeopathy world.
He now has a private pediatric practice in Switzerland, where he treats patients with primarily homeopathy as well as with conventional medicine, if needed.
Here is his research:
Study # 1
Publication: European Journal of Pediatrics
Procedure: In a controlled, randomized study, 115 children diagnosed with ADHD with given a homeopathic remedy for treatment for 3 1/2 months.
Any children that were not successfully treated with their respective remedy would be given ritalin, and the results would be compared.
The median age of the children was 8.3 years old, and the clinical measurement scale used to determine healing was Conner’s Global Index (C.G.I.)
Results: Out of the 75% of the children who initially improved, 55% of the children healed with their remedies according to the C.G.I., and their parents believed their respective child improved by 73%. The numbers for the children resorting to ritalin were less: 48% and 65% respectively.
Study # 2
Publication: European Journal of Pediatrics
Participants: In a stricter study that was randomized, double blind, and placebo-controlled, 62 children were given either a homeopathic remedy or a placebo.
Results: Children treated with homeopathy improved significantly, whereas the children treated with the placebo worsened.
In the researchers own words: “the trial suggests scientific evidence of the effectiveness of homeopathy in ADHD-treatment, particularly in the areas of behavioral and cognitive functions.”
***NOTE: Several of the researchers involved were skeptics of homeopathy who expected the trial to not work at all.
After the trial, they all were convinced of the effectiveness of homeopathy and they all either began homeopathic training or they referred their patients to Dr. Frei’s practice.
This study also included follow-ups on the children lasting a decade. Most of the children cited even more improvement in their ADHD and some didn’t even need to take their remedy anymore because they were doing very well.

A Case Report – Not From Dr. Frei
Publication: European Journal of Integrative Medicine
Participants: A teenager aged 16 years old, who was diagnosed with ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome and dyslexia was admitted to a homeopath for about a year and a half for treatment.
Certain measurement scales were used to determine her stages of healing (see source at the bottom for more details)
The main remedy used was Cannabis.
Results: His ADHD was greatly improved as well as several of his other symptoms.
A Pilot Study
Researchers: Brulé D, Sule L, Landau-Halpern B, Nastase V, Jain U, Vohra S, Boon H.
Publication: Forsch Komplementmed
Procedure: In this minor pilot study, 35 children and teenagers were given an individualized homeopathic remedy to help treat their ADHD symptoms.
80% of the participants underwent homeopathic treatment for an average of 12 months.
Results: 63% of the participants showed statistically significant improvement.
Being that this was a pilot study, the researchers stressed that despite the results, more research is needed to confirm homeopathy’s effectiveness in treated ADHD.
