There are many supplements that grown-ups can use safely – if you’re trying to stay awake, you can drink coffee, if you want to build muscle, you can start drinking protein shakes, etc. However, kids are much more sensitive, which is why you should always try to improve their healthy habits in the most natural way possible. With that in mind, here are some of the most useful herbal solutions that you should have at home and how they can help your kids. 

For digestion and immunity

Catnip can be fun if you have cats, but it can also improve your child’s digestion and immunity. Moreover, it can be very soothing for the nervous system too, so it’s a good choice if your child has a headache or trouble sleeping. However, it’s not very tasty on its own, so it usually goes well with honey or some other sweetener – just keep in mind that kids under 12 months shouldn’t be given honey since it can cause botulism. Additionally, hibiscus is also a great herb for immunity. It’s a good choice when your child is trying to fight off a cold, as it has a lot of vitamin C. For constipation and cramps

Peppermint tea is very popular because it can help us clear our minds, but it’s also great for kids. It’s good for constipation, bloating, abdominal cramps, and gas. So, if your child is having stomach issues, peppermint tea might help ease those problems by stimulating the intestines. However, too much peppermint can lead to reflux, so don’t give your child more than 2-3 cups of tea per day. Moreover, fennel is also good for stomach cramps and gas issues, and kids usually love it because of its sweet taste. Just keep in mind that if your child is suffering from nausea, it’s best to give it in small sips at a time.

For relaxation

Chamomile has many benefits, from supporting digestion to easing stomach pain. Additionally, it also helps relax the nerves, which is why it’s a good choice for energetic kids, kids who are stressed out, or teething kids. For example, if you have a teething child, you can freeze the tea into small ice cubes, place the cubes in a food feeder, and let your child suck on it. Or, if your child is a bit anxious, you can give them a cup of chamomile tea before bed to help them sleep better. Just keep in mind that loose chamomile tea can also cause botulism, so make sure the tea you buy is safe for your child.
