A Brief Overview of Animal and Insect Stings & Bites

Animal and insect stings and bites are actually more common than we think and are caused by actually more types of animals and insects than we believe.

According to the World Health Organization [W.H.O.]¹:

• Animal bites and stings are one of the biggest causes of diseases and death in the world
• About 5 million people are bitten by snakes every year, the majority of which include residents of Southeast Asia and Africa
• Poisonous venom bites require immediate emergency treatment
• Tens of millions of people worldwide are bitten by dogs; most victims include children.
• Rabies is one of the most critical health concerns we face today, besides for animal bites.

The extent of animal bites depends on the type of animal and species that is attacking the person. The most common animal bites nowadays usually occur via dogs, cats, snakes, and even monkeys.

Some will simply result in an injury, some will result in contract an illness or disease such as rabies, and some may be fatal, such as certain snake bites.

Additionally, men, women and children are medically and psychologically affected each year by animal and insect bites and stings, and thousands are deaths are reported each year. The vast majority of deaths are caused by poisonous snake venom bites, which as mentioned above, are most common in parts of Asia and Africa.

As is commonly known, if one is allergic to certain insects such as bees, or does not momentarily treat an infected area from an insect bite, it can lead to dire consequences and possibly death, Heaven forbid.

In any fatal emergency, one MUST seek emergency hospital aid as soon as possible!!

For any acute, non-fatal bites and stings, or if there is no help in sight, Homeopathy offers several acute remedies for a range of different types of bites and stings, depending on the origin of the attack and the person’s individual symptoms. 

If no other help is provided Homeopathic remedies can come in handy and help heal up a bite or sign wound without the need for any painful procedures or side effects involved.

Here are the acute Homeopathic remedies for stings as well as bites:

Apis Mellifica

Derived from the western/European honey bee, Apis is effective for when the bite or sting  gives off a hot, red, swelling sensation. Apis of the most commonly used acute remedies for bites and stings.

Furthermore, Apis can similarly be effective for allergic reactions [such as more peanuts and nuts], swelling in throat, and meningitis brain swelling.

Cedron

Cedron, which is derived from the rattlesnake bean, is a prominent acute remedy used for snake bites of all sorts.

Lachesis Muta

Lachesis is derived from the South American pit viper, known to be extremely venonous. Like few other snakes, the pit viper has huge fangs can be controlled by its neck.

This makes Lachesis highly recommended for animal bites, insect stings, and rabies where the neck may feel constricted or a person will have an aversion to feeling constricted in the neck.

Lachesis should also be considered when there is either a blue or purple swelling in the area of the bite or sting.

When the bite or sting occur on one’s hand, and there is a strong pain sensation on the hand, consider Hypericum.

A very solid remedy for mosquito bites.

Lysin

As a rabies nosode, Lysin contains the energy of an animal bite. It can be used chronically for people who tend to uncontrollably bite or curse others without helping themselves, whether physically or emotionally.

For acute situations, Lysin is the top remedy for rabies as well as side effects from anti-rabies vaccination.

Whether the rabies is a result from animal bites, scratches, or saliva, Lysin should be considered—both for people and animals as well.

Silica

The essence of Silica, as described by several master homeopaths, is when one is “containing too much light or energy,” much like a feeling of being too overwhelmed.

Similarly, Silica, as an acute remedy, is nicknamed as a “Homeopathic scalpel.” It can remove any foreign physical entities of any sort out of a person’s body. Anything that intrudes into the body can get pushed out.

Though not primarily used for bites and stings, Silica may help for whenever any bites or stings involves an insertion of a certain object or entity.

Derived froms stinging metal, it’s very useful for insect bites and stings that may result in allergic reactions or hives.

Vespa

If Apis and/or Urticaurens fail, Vespa should be highly considered as a follow-up.

Derived from the wasp, Vespa heals insect bites and stings with the same characteristic symptoms as Apis

The only difference is that it inspires your body to heal more strongly and it can help when the body begins to shut down or paralyze after a bite or sting.
