Although my site has primarily dealt with homeopathy other similar natural, holistic approaches, I felt compelled to share something somewhat different from the norm. Heck, there’s nothing wrong with learning how to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks…right?
As an aspiring homeopath, I’ve noticed how proper nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle can heavily influence our healing process, of course on all levels.
I’ve noticed in my experience how healthy lifestyles have made people the right vessels to receive health improvement, and the opposite as well unfortunately.
Our body, with the help of what homeopathy calls a “vital force,” is fully capable of being able to heal on its own. As long as the body’s processes aren’t suppressed by other means, the body has the power and knowledge to know how to fight its own energetic imbalances.
(These imbalances are what lead to mental, emotional, and physical health issues.)
However, when we abuse our body, especially via improper dieting, lack of exercise, dangerous recreational drug intakes, or the like, we are not only harming ourselves, but we block ourselves from allowing the body to function properly on its own. Thus leading to a dis-ease in the vital force that animates us and manifests physically.
Both ancient and modern doctors and healthcare practitioners of all fields, including Maimonides, have warned about the importance of proper body management.
See the words of Maimonides, a 13th Century Rabbinical authority and renowned physician of his times:
…as long as a person engages regularly in strenuous exercise, does not eat to satiation, and keeps himself from being constipated, he will remain free of illness and his strength will increase even if he eats harmful foods [Mishneh Torah, Laws of Personal Development, Law 14]
By now, you might be thinking that I’m foolish for quoting a doctor from the Middle Ages. He’s not from today’s age! Interestingly, many modern medical doctors have actually promoted and even written about the genius medical advice of Maimonides and how it’s been clinically proven to work.
Now, What Can We Do???
We have all noticed numerous promotions of how to lose x amount of pounds……
how to lose ten pounds fast!! [irony?]
how to easily lose 5 pounds in 1 week!!!!
how to lose 20 pounds in 1 month!!!
5 Simple steps to lose 30 pounds in 2 months!!!!!!!!
The truth is some of the approaches given by experts and laypeople alike can and do work, when followed consistently, yet they can be very very difficult to keep up with.
For example: You have to give up the foods you like partially or completely, you have follow a certain rigorous schedule, you have to do abc……ETC.
True, nothing comes along easy in life. No pain, no gain!
But there are extremely simple ways to lose weight without such rigorous tips or schedules necessary.
Right now, I’m going to exclusively share with you what I believe is the among the most simple, easy, and efficient methods to lose weight quickly.
I actually have tried out the following method myself, as a matter of fact. Here’s my story:
My Own Success
About 2-3 months, I was spending a holiday together with my family. Like many religious festivals throughout the year, this one was especially filled with delicious and flavorful foods that I simply could not resist!
After the end of the holiday, I weighed myself, and noticed that I gained a whopping 5 pounds
I was shocked.
Out of fear of gaining more, I found this method and decided to implement it into good use.
After several days of consistently sticking to this simple regiment, I saw that I lost 10 pounds, to my utter disbelief.
I also noticed sometime later, that when family and friends of mine followed methods very similar to this, they also were able to lose significant amounts of weight.
Now, without further due, let me share with you my “little secret” in how to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks:
#1 – Elliptical Machine
Go on the elliptical machine every day for at least 20 minutes. It’s not necessary to go your hardest to get maximum results; on the contrary, overexertion can backfire your progress.
The best way going about is to go at a consistent speed that you can handle, and to try to more or less maintain it as much as possible.
I picked the elliptical specifically, because as an ex-heart murmur patient, I needed to exercise my emphatic system in order to get back into shape.
After getting my heart murmur closed up, I wasn’t able to do extensive, hard labor of any kind. The elliptical was the easiest and best work out that I could do, and I was getting the most exercise out of it.
But, even for a healthier person, you can still reap tremendous benefits from it, since you are working out with most of your body.
Until this day I still strive to work out on the elliptical every day and continue to feel my best!
#2 – Eat Right!
What do I mean?
It’s not just avoiding and limiting certain unhealthy foods, like salt, sugar, junk food, and the like.
More importantly, it’s about NOT EATING ALL OF YOUR FOOD.
Meaning, when you sit down to eat a meal, or even a snack, always make sure to leave over approximately at least an olive-sized amount. Don’t eat your whole plate, or that entire bag of snacks.
By overeating, a person clogs their body’s digestive systems and slowing down digestion. This in terms causes numerous, unpleasant health effects, like gas and bloating.
You can still eat whatever you want as long as it’s not extremely unhealthy. Enjoy a steak, a snack bar, a plate of pasta, sushi, whatever. Just DON’T FINISH the entire dish.
Alternatively, eat until you feel you are about 75% full. Refusing to finish your whole meal may sound hard and excruciating at first, but after training yourself to control your lust for food, you will get used to be and even behaviorally adapt to this eating method.
#3 – Avoid Foods That Don’t Agree With You!
Of course, its very important to avoid those foods that are fattening and aren’t good for our gastrointestinal system.
I used to have intense bloating problems, and after several months, I stopped eating rice for just several days after taking a friend’s advice seriously.
Within days, I noticed that my bloating was much less than before. I also wasn’t burping as much and my stomach felt much more stable. All because of simply getting rid of rice!
In short, don’t eat foods that may worsen your bodily condition. Try avoiding certain carbs or bread foods that you enjoy to find out.
#4 – Probiotics
Sometimes, our weight issues may stem from the bad bacteria in our gut. This is when probiotics come in.
They kill the bad bacteria in the gut in order to allow the good bacteria to function properly and to break down food.
It’s important however to find the right probiotic.
Some products can kill both the good and bad bacteria, which can have a not-so-fun effect on your stomach digestion.
