Vaginal dryness usually occurs during the menopausal period. The vagina loses its natural lubrication due to the hormonal processes taking place at this time. The reduced amount of estrogen and progesterone in the woman’s body causes multiple changes, and this unpleasant condition is one of them.

However, it’s not only menopausal hormonal fluctuations that can cause vaginal dryness. A woman’s reproductive health is a highly sensitive sphere. Bacterial infection, fungi, diabetes, even improper hygienic products can be responsible for this.

At first, a reduced natural discharge may not alert a woman, but later the discomfort will make her realize that something is wrong. First, she notices discomfort during sex which can affect her relationship. Then burning, irritation, itch, and frequent urges to urinate appear. This condition causes lots of discomforts and needs to be solved. Fortunately, nature always knows the answer.

Natural Remedies for Vaginal Dryness

These natural remedies will help you reduce discomfort, fight the infection and improve the quality of your intimate life for those suffering from vaginal dryness.

1. Chamomile water

Chamomile has antibacterial properties and reduces irritation and itching. Take two handfuls of dried chamomile flowers with leaves and boil them in 4 cups of water. Wash your vagina with this broth and you will feel improvement very soon.

2. Turmeric

Turmeric’s antibacterial abilities will be especially helpful if the cause of your vaginal dryness is a viral infection. Adding it into your daily menu will improve your health in many aspects. In addition, you can treat your abnormal condition. Mix it with milk to make a homogenous paste, and then apply it on your vagina (in the outer part only!) for 1-2 minutes. Then wash it off carefully.

3. Aloe Vera

The leaves of Aloe Vera contain a gel-like substance that has excellent moisturizing qualities. It nourishes the vaginal skin and helps normalize its pH levels. Add some milk to boost its positive effect with the action of lactic acid that will restore a natural bacterial balance inside the vagina. Mix 2 tbsps. of Aloe Vera gel with 1 tbsp. of milk, apply on your labia for 2 minutes, and then wash carefully. Do it every day.

4.  Sesame oil

Sesame oil is a natural lubricant. It is absolutely safe for the tender skin of sex organs. It will help you feel better during sex if you have a problem with vaginal dryness. Apply 6 drops of it onto a cotton pad and massage into your problem area every day.

5. Tea tree oil

In multiple cases, bacterial infection is the cause of vaginal dryness. You can determine this if there’s also an unpleasant smell present. Tea tree is effective in fighting bacteria and is a good natural lubricant.  Apply 3 drops of oil on your underwear or on a cotton pad and massage it into a problem zone.

Remember! Essential oils can be allergenic, so test them on the skin of your arm before applying on more tender intimate places. Also, it is important not to let them get inside the vagina. If you notice no improvement, the discomfort only gets worse and sex hurts no matter what you do – speak to your doctor about this.
